MMD College celebrates International Mother Language Day at Sabroom

Agartala, February 21, 2023: The “International Mother Language Day” was celebrated on Tuesday in the auditorium of Michael Madhusudan Datta College in Sabroom organized by the Bengali department. The auspicious “Ekushey” February was observed by paying tribute to the language martyrs through musical performance.

The welcome talk was given by Supriya Mog, Head of Department of Bengali. Dr Sudip Goswami, Secretary of the Teachers’ Association, highlighted the development of all languages in respect of all languages of the world.

The main speaker Dr Kamal Acharya highlighted the context of celebrating the International Mother Language Day. Many languages are disappearing in different parts of the world, college principal Dr Anupam Guha urged everyone to come forward to overcome this.

The musical performance by the students added to the depth of the celebration of the day.
