Tripura Police Recover 314 Kg of Cannabis in Kalamchowra Operation

Agartala, 2nd April 2026: Tripura Police reported that a major drug bust took place today following a tip-off received by the Anti-Narcotics Unit. In a joint operation conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Unit and Kalamchowra Police Station, authorities raided a house in Jumertilla under Kalamchowra PS.

During the operation, officials recovered 11 drums containing 314 kilograms of dry cannabis from the residence of Badal Miah (35) of Jumertilla, Kalamchowra, Sepahijala District. The house owner, Badal Miah, has been detained for questioning.

A specific case related to the seizure will be registered at Kalamchowra Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

Police have urged citizens to provide information on illegal drug activities to help curb the menace.
