CRPF Jawan Dies of Electrocution in Goalabasti

Agartala, 23rd April 2026:A 33-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, identified as Mithilesh Ray, died after being electrocuted while carrying out electrical work at a rented house in the Goalabasti area.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the jawan was attempting to repair or handle electrical wiring inside his rented accommodation. He reportedly came into direct contact with a live wire and collapsed on the spot. His condition went unnoticed for some time before others present in the area realized the incident and rushed to help.

He was immediately taken to ILS Hospital, where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Following this, the body was shifted to GB Pant Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. On Thursday, after the autopsy was completed, the mortal remains were handed over to his colleagues.

Police confirmed that the deceased CRPF personnel was 33 years old. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
