CM Advocates Use of Local Bamboo, Rubber Wood in Upcoming Hotel Project

Agartala, 29th April 2026:   A high-level meeting was held today at TIFTI under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manik Saha to discuss the proposed construction of a modern hotel at Pushpabant Palace.

During the meeting, senior officials from Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), including Area Director and General Manager Jayanta Das, briefed the Chief Minister on the details of the upcoming hotel project.

Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of initiating the construction work at the earliest. He also suggested incorporating locally sourced materials such as rubber wood and bamboo-based products in the hotel’s interior design to promote Tripura’s indigenous industries. Additionally, he recommended the use of solar energy alongside conventional electricity systems to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly operations.

The meeting was attended by Finance Secretary Apurba Roy, Secretary of Public Works and Health Department Kiran Gitte, Industries and Commerce Secretary T.K. Darlong, Tourism Director Aniruddha Roy, Urban Development Director Megha Jain, TUDDA Commissioner Mihirkanti Gopal, along with representatives from IHCL.

The proposed project is expected to boost tourism infrastructure and promote sustainable development in the state.
