Agartala, 7th May 2026: On the occasion of the 79th World Red Cross Day, the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch, in collaboration with its seven district branches, will organize a Mega Blood Donation Camp across the state on May 8, 2026 (Friday) from 10:30 AM onwards.
According to the organizers, eight mega blood donation camps will be conducted simultaneously in different districts of Tripura with the objective of encouraging voluntary blood donation and spreading awareness about the importance of saving lives through humanitarian service.
The main inaugural programme will be held at Red Cross Bhavan in Agartala, where Tripura Governor and President of the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, will formally inaugurate the camp. The remaining district-level camps will also be inaugurated virtually on the same occasion.
The campaign will cover West Tripura, South Tripura, Sepahijala, Gomati, Khowai, Unakoti, Dhalai and North Tripura districts.
The Mega Blood Donation Camps will be held at Red Cross Bhavan in Agartala for West Tripura district under the coordination of Chandan Debnath (7005348060), at Belonia Hospital in South Tripura under the coordination of Biplab Sen (8837028393), at the DM Office (2nd Floor) in Sepahijala district under Shyamal Debnath (8787670825), and at the DM Office Complex in Gomati district under Animesh Deb (9862320407).
Similarly, the camp in Khowai district will be organized at Khowai Kalibari under the coordination of Sourav Debbarma (6909426203), while the Unakoti district camp will be held at Unakoti Kalakshetra under Sidhartha Datta (9862090695). In Dhalai district, the camp venue will be Ambassa PRTI Conference Hall under the supervision of Sankar Chakraborty (7085595581), and in North Tripura district, the camp will be conducted at Dharmanagar Hospital under the coordination of Subrata Deb (9366582401).
The Indian Red Cross Society has appealed to citizens to actively participate in the humanitarian initiative and contribute towards saving precious lives through voluntary blood donation.
“Donate Blood, Save Lives” and “Ashun Rokter Samparka Gori” have been adopted as the key messages of the campaign.
