Assam Rifles recovers Morphine worth Rs 18 lakhs at Agartala

Agartala, 21st  May 2026: Assam Rifles, in a joint operation conducted in general area Railway Station, Agartala, West Tripura District, in coordination with representatives of Customs Department, recovered approximately 180 grams of Morphine worth Rs 18 Lakhs on 20 May 2026.

During the operation, one individual identified as Arun Kumar Chakma was apprehended in connection with the recovery.

The recovered contraband along with the apprehended individual has been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles towards combating narcotics trafficking and maintaining security in the region.
