House reduced to ashes in midnight blaze at Bagbasa

Date:

Agartala, 27th May 2026:  Panic gripped residents of Nadiyapur Ward No. 2 under Shani Chhara Gram Panchayat in the 55 Bagbasa Assembly constituency after a devastating fire late Tuesday night.

The blaze broke out at the home of local resident Lukman Uddin, quickly engulfing his only dwelling. Important documents, furniture, and valuables were destroyed, while livestock suffered heavy losses. Though villagers managed to save his cows, several goats perished in the flames.

Police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot, but poor road conditions prevented fire engines from reaching the house. Officials had to walk a long distance, by which time the home was completely gutted.

Angry locals blamed neglected infrastructure, alleging repeated complaints about unusable roads were ignored. Residents said proper access could have reduced damage significantly.
