Agartala, 1st June 2026: . In a significant step towards strengthening rural healthcare services, ten ASHA facilitators in Dhalai district received e-cycles on Monday. The distribution ceremony was organized at the Ambassa Primary Health Centre conference hall under the initiative of the District Health and Family Welfare Society.
The e-cycles were provided by Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) to support ASHA workers in reaching remote villages more efficiently. These eco-friendly vehicles are expected to ease their daily travel, making healthcare delivery faster and more cost-effective in difficult terrains.
The programme was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by District Council Chairperson Sushmita Das, who emphasized that the e-cycles would greatly enhance the mobility of ASHA facilitators in hilly and remote areas, ensuring quicker access to healthcare for rural residents.
Other dignitaries present included Ambassa Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Hemali Debbarma, Ambassa Primary Hospital MOIC Dr. Sangita Reang, and Dr. Sudhir Debbarma.
At the conclusion of the event, the guests formally handed over the e-cycles to the ten ASHA facilitators, who expressed their happiness and gratitude. The initiative marks a progressive step in empowering frontline health workers and improving healthcare accessibility in Dhalai’s rural communities.
