Elderly Woman Found Dead in Her Home; Police Launch Investigation

Agartala, 5th June 2026: A sense of shock has gripped the Madhya Bhubanban area after the body of an elderly woman, identified as Padma Chakraborty, was recovered from her residence todat.

According to local sources, residents noticed her body inside her home and immediately informed the police. Officers from the West Women Police Station arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the report. A forensic team was also called in to assist with the investigation.

Forensic experts examined the site late at night and collected several samples for analysis as part of the preliminary investigation.

Reports suggest that the elderly woman lived alone at her residence. Yesterday evening evening, locals found her house door open and, upon entering, discovered her lying unresponsive inside.

A local youth stated that he had visited her house earlier in the day to check on her condition. He reportedly found her unwell at the time but did not suspect anything serious, as she was known to suffer from frequent health issues.

The exact cause of death remains unclear. Police have stated that the cause will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination report is received. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway, and officials are examining all possible angles.
