Agartala, 7th June 2026: West Agartala Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in two theft investigations, recovering gold ornaments worth nearly Rs 35 lakh and tracing 25 lost mobile phones. Ten individuals have been arrested in connection with the cases.
According to West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, the theft cases were reported at West Agartala Police Station on April 9 and April 23. Acting swiftly, police teams launched a coordinated investigation, relying on intelligence gathering and technical surveillance to identify the suspects.
The operation resulted in the recovery of a substantial quantity of stolen gold jewelry as well as several mobile phones that had been reported missing. Police subsequently arrested 10 accused persons allegedly linked to the thefts.
Officials said legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals, while investigators continue to examine the cases for any wider criminal connections.
Following necessary legal procedures and court orders, the recovered valuables were returned to their rightful owners on Sunday in the presence of senior police officials, including SP Namit Pathak.
Speaking at the handover programme, the SP reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to protecting citizens’ property and ensuring prompt action in cases of theft and loss. The successful recovery has provided much-needed relief to the victims and reinforced public confidence in law enforcement efforts.
