Agartala, 20th June 2026: The Tripura Pradesh Congress has strongly criticized both the BJP-led Central Government and the state administration, raising concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, rising unemployment, and the overall education system in the country.
In a statement, the party alleged that repeated incidents of question paper leaks, re-examinations, and other irregularities in major exams such as NEET and CBSE have created widespread uncertainty and anxiety among students. According to the Congress, these issues have seriously impacted the confidence and mental well-being of the student community.
The party further claimed that in recent years, economic distress and lack of opportunities have forced a significant number of students to drop out of education. It accused the central government of failing to take effective action despite multiple examination-related controversies.
Referring to the recent NEET-related concerns, the Congress alleged that several student suicides have taken place in the past month and criticized the government for limiting its response to administrative changes instead of initiating a thorough investigation and strict punitive measures against those responsible.
Questions were also raised regarding CBSE’s digital evaluation system, with the party alleging a lack of transparency and accountability in the process.
The Congress also alleged that a peaceful protest organized by the Youth Congress, NSUI, and Mahila Congress in Agartala on May 15 was disrupted through attacks allegedly supported by the ruling party.
On unemployment, the party accused the government of failing to generate adequate job opportunities, stating that large numbers of posts in government departments remain vacant while flagship schemes such as Make in India and Mudra Yojana have not delivered expected employment outcomes.
In the context of Tripura, the Congress claimed that unemployment levels are higher than the national average and raised concerns over transparency in recruitment processes across several departments.
The party also called for an impartial investigation into alleged irregularities in the recently conducted TPSC Joint Lecturer recruitment examination.
It urged the government to ensure transparency in all competitive examinations, take strict action against malpractice, and restore trust among students and young job seekers.
