Agartala, 22nd June 2026: A 6-year-old child was seriously injured in a road accident on the Fatikroy–Gokulnagar road under Fatikroy Assembly constituency in North Tripura.
The injured child has been identified as Rajdeep Shabdokar, son of Ranu Shabdokar, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Gokulnagar.
According to reports, on Monday morning, a speeding vehicle lost control on the Fatikroy–Gokulnagar road and hit Rajdeep, leaving him critically injured.
Locals and family members immediately rescued the child and rushed him to Fatikroy Hospital. After initial treatment, doctors referred him to Unakoti District Hospital due to the worsening of his condition.
It is alleged that after the accident, family members chased the vehicle involved and managed to stop it. The vehicle was reportedly carrying betel leaves. The incident has created tension in the area.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Local residents have wished for the child’s speedy recovery.
