Madhabnagar HS School in Sabroom faces neglect, parents demand immediate action

Date:

Agartala, 26th June 2026:    Madhabnagar Higher Secondary School under Poangbari RD Block of South Tripura has allegedly been left in a state of severe neglect, triggering resentment among students and guardians over the deteriorating condition of the government educational institution.

According to reports, the school premises have remained unclean and poorly maintained for a long period. The absence of a boundary wall has created serious problems, with allegations that some locals are entering the school premises and tethering cattle and goats inside classrooms, affecting the learning environment.

Parents and students have also raised concerns over the unhygienic condition of the school toilets, which they claim have become unsuitable for regular use. When the issue was brought to the attention of the Headmaster, he reportedly expressed helplessness, stating that the lack of proper fencing allows outsiders to misuse the school premises.

The problems extend beyond sanitation. Students reportedly face difficulties during rainfall as water enters classrooms even during light showers. The school’s drinking water tank has allegedly not been cleaned for a long time, raising concerns over hygiene and safety. The same water is reportedly being used by students and for preparation of mid-day meals.

The poor condition of basic infrastructure has further added to concerns, with the door of the Headmaster’s room also reportedly damaged and in need of repair.

The condition of Madhabnagar Higher Secondary School has raised serious questions over maintenance and monitoring of government educational institutions. Parents and local residents have urged the administration and the Education Department to take immediate steps to improve sanitation, repair infrastructure, and ensure a safe learning environment for students.
