The inspection was carried out with the objective of ensuring that the college becomes operational from the upcoming academic session.

During the visit, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte was accompanied by Additional Health Secretary and Mission Director Saju Waheed A., along with senior officials of the Public Works Department, including the Chief Engineer and Executive Engineer. Other officials present included Dr. Sujoy Das, Branch Officer (Homeopathy), Health & Family Welfare Department; Dr. Debjyoti Saha, Branch Officer (Homeopathy), Directorate of Medical Education; Dr. Sushanta Sarkar, MOIC of Netaji Subhash State Homeopathic Hospital; and Dr. Shubhashis Bhattacharya, Implementing Officer of the proposed medical college.

Officials informed that nearly 95 percent of the construction work, including civil works and procurement of essential materials, for the 60-seat medical college has already been completed. A team from the National Commission of Homeopathy has also visited the institution twice to assess the progress and infrastructure facilities.

During the inspection, Kiran Gitte and PWD officials visited the proposed locations for the academic building and hostel facilities and examined the architectural plans prepared under the master plan. The authorities reviewed whether the proposed design matches the actual site conditions and discussed the remaining steps required for completion.

The approved master plan includes a modern integrated campus with a state-of-the-art academic building, hospital facilities, residential quarters, and hostels. The project is expected to significantly strengthen homeopathic healthcare services and medical education in the state.

Officials expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the ongoing work and instructed concerned departments to take necessary measures for timely completion. Once the college receives official affiliation, admission and academic activities are expected to begin from the next session, marking a significant milestone for Tripura’s AYUSH education sector.
