Agartala, 12th September 2026 : A 25-year-old housewife, Priyanka Mushahar, was critically injured after allegedly being attacked with an axe by her intoxicated husband, Bimal Bhumij, at Lalchhari Bhumij Para under Kamalpur police station on Friday night.
According to reports, Bimal, a labourer, returned home around 8:30 PM in an allegedly drunken state and got into an argument with Priyanka over a domestic issue. During the altercation, he allegedly struck her on the head with an axe, leaving her seriously injured.
Neighbours rushed her to Bimal Sinha Memorial Hospital, from where doctors referred her to Kulai Hospital in Dhalai district for advanced treatment. She is reportedly battling for her life.
Kamalpur Police have registered a case based on a complaint, while the accused husband remains absconding.
