Agartala, 3rd July 2026: Concerns over law and order in West Tripura have grown following a series of mysterious and unnatural deaths reported over the past month. Police have struggled to establish clear causes in most of the cases, leaving several incidents unresolved.
The latest case involves the recovery of a labourer’s body from the construction site of a boys’ hostel at a law college located in Narsinghgarh. The deceased worker was originally from Assam. According to police sources, officers rushed to the scene after receiving information and recovered the body, which was later sent for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have registered an unnatural death case, but officials reportedly have strong suspicions surrounding the circumstances. Several workers present at the construction site have been detained and taken to the police station for questioning.
While initial observations have raised doubts about the possibility of suicide, many locals and sources suggest the death may be a case of homicide. Police continue to investigate all angles as the inquiry progresses.
