Agartala, 6th July 2026: With just a week remaining before the commencement of the first phase of examinations, Class IX students of the CBSE-affiliated Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vidya Jyoti School at Charilam are grappling with uncertainty as they are yet to receive their NCERT Social Science (SST) textbooks.
The school’s Periodic Assessment-I is scheduled to begin on July 13, with Social Science being one of the key subjects. However, students alleged that the required textbooks have not yet been supplied, leaving them unable to prepare adequately for the examination.
Speaking to the media, Principal Manimay Bhowmik acknowledged the issue and said the delay in the supply of books was beyond the school’s control. He informed that the school authorities have already communicated the matter to the concerned officials and are continuously following up. Despite repeated efforts, the Social Science textbooks have not yet reached the institution, affecting the academic preparation of Class IX students.
The students voiced their frustration, saying that preparing for an examination without the prescribed NCERT textbook has become a major challenge. They expressed concern that the absence of study material could adversely affect their performance in the upcoming assessment. They appealed to the authorities to ensure that the textbooks are supplied immediately so they can make effective use of the remaining days before the examination.
Parents and guardians also expressed concern over the situation, stating that the delay has created unnecessary stress among students at a crucial stage of the academic session. They urged the concerned authorities and NCERT to expedite the delivery of the textbooks without further delay.
With only seven days left before the examinations begin, both students and parents are hoping for swift intervention to resolve the issue and prevent any disruption to the academic progress of the Class IX batch.
