Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath Reviews Monsoon Readiness, Stresses Uninterrupted Electricity Supply

Agartala, 7TH July 2026: To ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply across Tripura during the monsoon season, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath conducted a detailed review meeting at the corporate office of TSECL.

The meeting focused on the state’s current power situation, preparations to handle monsoon-related challenges, and improving customer service. Senior officials, including the Managing Director of TSECL, attended the meeting, while officials from the Power Department in West Tripura, Sepahijala, and Khowai districts joined through virtual mode.

Addressing the officials, the Minister highlighted that maintaining continuous electricity supply during the rainy season is a key priority of the government. He directed all employees to remain alert and ensure immediate response to power disruptions caused by storms, heavy rainfall, or other natural calamities.Ratan Lal Nath instructed officials to treat consumer complaints with urgency and resolve issues at the earliest so that people do not face prolonged inconvenience. He also stressed the need for improving the prepaid electricity recharge system and urged officials to adopt advanced technology in coordination with technical experts to prevent recharge-related problems for consumers.

The Minister further directed that essential services such as hospitals, drinking water supply facilities, and important government establishments must receive uninterrupted power under all circumstances. He also asked officials to take necessary steps to maintain reliable electricity supply for domestic and commercial consumers.

During the review, officials discussed several important matters, including round-the-clock service availability, electricity bill collection, speedy complaint resolution, and departmental preparedness to tackle emergencies during the monsoon.

The Minister also emphasized keeping field-level electricity workers active and ensuring adequate availability of manpower, equipment, transformers, cables, and other essential materials.According to TSECL sources, special arrangements have already been made across different districts to handle possible monsoon-related disruptions. Emergency response teams have been prepared, and sufficient repair materials and equipment have been stocked to enable quick restoration of power services in case of any damage caused by adverse weather conditions.
