Agartala 20th July 2026: To raise public awareness about the Self-Enumeration Programme under Census 2027, a special inaugural event was organized at the Satchand R.D. Block in South Tripura. The programme was formally launched on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the block’s conference hall.
The event was attended by MLA Mailafru Mog of the 39-Manu Assembly Constituency, Prabhas Lodh, Chairperson of Satchand Panchayat Samiti, Block Development Officer Souradip Debnath, and other dignitaries.
Officials explained that the initiative aims to inform citizens about the self-enumeration method and ensure its effective use. BDO Souradip Debnath emphasized that active public participation is crucial for the successful implementation of the census process.
MLA Mailafru Mog highlighted that census data plays a vital role in shaping administrative planning, developmental policies, and future strategies. He noted that spreading accurate information about the self-enumeration programme is of great significance. Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Prabhas Lodh urged people to participate spontaneously in this initiative.
