Agartala, 4th August 2026 : The Tripura Gramin Bank Officers’ Federation and Tripura Gramin Bank Employees’ Federation have jointly raised a five-point charter of demands concerning the interests and welfare of the bank’s officers and employees.
The demands were placed at a joint press conference held at the Tripura Gramin Bank head office in Agartala on Tuesday. The two federations also announced that their first joint conference will be held on August 8 and 9 at a hotel in the capital.
Biplab Saha, Chairperson of both federations, Officers’ Federation President David Debbarma, General Secretary Tamal Debnath, Employees’ Federation President Anwesha Das and General Secretary Souvik Nag were present at the press conference.
The federations have demanded the immediate implementation of pending financial and other benefits under the 9th Joint Note and 12th Bipartite Settlement. They also sought parity with employees of the sponsor bank in terms of allowances, perks and welfare benefits.
Another major demand is an end to the practice of deputing employees from the sponsor bank under provisions of the Regional Rural Banks Act. The organizations stressed the need to protect Tripura Gramin Bank’s independent identity.
The federations further demanded the speedy filling of vacant Office Assistant posts and the introduction of a transparent, fair and humane transfer policy for employees.
The joint conference will begin on August 8, with all officers and employees of the bank invited to attend the open session. The leaders said the staff have been performing their responsibilities with dedication for years and expressed hope that the bank authorities would respond positively to their legitimate demands.
They urged the authorities to initiate immediate dialogue and take concrete steps to implement the charter of demands.
