Tripura BJP to Undertake Booth Verification Across State, committee formed

Date:

Agartala, 17th August 2026 :   The Tripura Pradesh BJP has decided to undertake a state-wide verification of its booth committees from August 18, as part of an organisational exercise to strengthen its grassroots network.

In an urgent notification issued by the party’s State Executive Committee, BJP state president Abhishek Debroy directed all district presidents to begin the verification process in their respective areas.

The party has instructed district units to identify inactive or weak booth committees and make necessary changes, including assigning responsibilities to new workers wherever required. Those selected for booth-level responsibilities have also been asked not to hold other organisational or administrative duties.

To supervise the exercise, the party has constituted a five-member State Booth Verification Team. State BJP Vice-President Tapas Bhattacharya has been appointed Convenor, while state secretary Nabadal Banik, state secretary Bhumika Nanda Reang, party chairman Avijit Deb and former district president Debabrata Bhattacharjee have been named Co-Convenors.

Under the new arrangement, each district will constitute a three-member committee consisting of one Convenor and two Co-Convenors. Similarly, one district-level in-charge will be assigned to each mandal and will form a three-member team for booth verification.

The BJP has directed all concerned units to complete the exercise by August 24.The verification drive is expected to focus on reviewing booth-level organisational strength, replacing inactive members and improving the party’s grassroots preparedness across Tripura.
