Three Women Held With 25 Kg of Ganja at Jogendranagar Railway Station

Agartala, 20th  August 2026 : Tripura police on Thursday morning detained three women from Jogendranagar Railway Station and seized approximately 25 kg of dried ganja from their possession.

The operation was jointly conducted by personnel from East Agartala Police Station and the College Tilla Police Outpost. The detained women have been identified as Pinky Kumar, Riku Devi and Munakia Devi.

According to police, the three women were behaving suspiciously while arranging bags at the railway station. Suspecting illegal activity, police searched their bags and recovered several packets containing dried ganja.

During preliminary questioning, the women reportedly told investigators that they were attempting to transport the ganja to Bihar.

The Officer-in-Charge of East Agartala Police Station said a case would be registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Police are also interrogating the three women to identify others allegedly involved in the suspected drug trafficking network and determine the source and intended destination of the consignment.
