Udaipur celebrates 65th National Teachers’ Day

Agartala, 5th September 2026 :   The 65th National Teachers’ Day and Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony-2026 was held at Rajarshi Kalakshetra in Udaipur on Saturday, marking the 139th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and eminent educationist.

Organised by the Teachers’ Day Celebration Committee under the Department of School Education, the programme began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan by Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.

Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder and Tripura University Assistant Professor Dr. Jayanti Mahato were also present.

A total of 82 retired teachers from schools across the Udaipur subdivision were felicitated. Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also conferred a special honour on retired teacher Kajal Kanti Pal for his contribution to education.
