Copper pipes stolen from National Judicial Academy, one arrested

Agartala, 9th September 2026 :   Airport Police Station has arrested one person in connection with the theft of copper pipes from air-conditioning units at the National Judicial Academy in Narsingarh.

According to a police official from Airport Police Station, the station received information on September 6 that unidentified persons had allegedly cut and stolen copper pipes from the AC units at the academy during the night of September 5.

Police registered a case on September 6 and launched an investigation. During the probe, one suspect was arrested and, based on his interrogation, some of the stolen copper pipes were recovered, the official said.

Police said the arrested person is a resident of the Narsingarh area and is allegedly a drug addict. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to being involved in the theft on the night of September 5 and indicated that other persons were also involved.

The police official said further details are expected to emerge after the accused is produced before the court and police obtain remand for further interrogation. The investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the other persons allegedly involved in the theft.
