Police rescue health worker, woman from agitated crowd at Kailashahar

Agartala, 11th September 2026 : Tension prevailed in Kalipur area under Ward No. 13 of the Kailashahar Municipal Council after local residents allegedly found a health worker and a woman together in a compromising situation at a rented house.

According to local sources, the health worker, who is married and has children, had allegedly been visiting the rented accommodation in Kalipur regularly. His frequent movements reportedly aroused suspicion among residents, who began monitoring the premises.

The situation escalated on Thursday evening after locals, acting on information, allegedly entered the rented house and found the man and the woman together. Residents claimed that some objectionable articles were also recovered from the room. The incident quickly spread across the locality, triggering anger and a confrontation at the spot.

On being informed, personnel from the Women’s Police Station reached the area. Police reportedly intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further and took both the health worker and the woman into custody. They were subsequently brought to the police station for questioning.

The incident has caused considerable discussion and public concern in the municipal area. Police have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and verify the allegations made by local residents.
