Agartala, 13th September 2026 : Sensation spread in the Lalchhara area of Khowai after the body of an unidentified man was recovered near a bridge adjacent to the Khowai BJP district office on Sunday.
According to local residents, the man was found lying near the bridge, following which a crowd gathered at the spot. Police were informed and soon reached the area.
Police and local sources said the deceased appeared to be a homeless person. Residents claimed that he had been seen roaming around the area for several days.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the morgue for post-mortem examination. However, the identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
The exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Police have started an investigation to determine the cause of death. Further details are expected after the post-mortem report is received.
