Thieves Strike Vivekananda Shishu Niketan School in Bishalgarh, Steal Electrical Wires

Agartala, 17th September 2026 :   Concern has gripped Bishalgarh following another incident of theft, with miscreants allegedly breaking into Vivekananda Shishu Niketan School during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday and stealing electrical wires from the premises.

The theft came to light on Thursday morning when teachers and staff arrived at the school. According to the school authorities, the thieves entered the institution under the cover of darkness and removed electrical wires, leaving the entire school without power.

The incident triggered panic among the school authorities and staff. A written complaint is reportedly being prepared for submission to Bishalgarh Police Station, seeking an investigation into the theft and identification of those involved.

The latest incident has also raised concern among local residents, who alleged that a series of thefts in the area has increased anxiety among people. They urged the police to intensify night patrolling and take preventive measures to curb such incidents.

Residents also demanded that the latest theft be investigated at the earliest and that those responsible be identified and brought under the law.

Meanwhile, a section of local residents has warned that if effective steps are not taken by the administration to prevent such incidents, they may launch an agitation involving the general public in the coming days.
