Power Minister reviews preparedness for uninterrupted power supply during Durga Puja

Agartala, 2nd October 2026 : Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday chaired a review meeting at the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) to assess and coordinate preparations ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja festival.

The meeting, attended by TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Basu and senior officials of the corporation, focused on ensuring an uninterrupted and reliable power supply across the state during the festive period.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the preparedness of the electricity department and discussed measures to minimise the possibility of power disruptions during the Puja celebrations.

In the meeting the Minister has asked the officials to remain vigilant and take necessary preventive measures to address technical problems and other challenges that could affect power supply.

In the meeting the Power Minister also emphasised the importance of strengthening the response mechanism so that any power-related complaints or faults are attended to promptly. “With large numbers of people expected to participate in Durga Puja celebrations across Tripura, we have to stressed the need for adequate manpower, equipment and field-level preparedness throughout the festival”, said Minister.

Minister also emphasised close coordination among all concerned officials and field-level teams to ensure that any emerging issue is identified and resolved without delay.

He also called for round-the-clock preparedness during the festive days, particularly in areas witnessing large public gatherings and major Puja celebrations.

The Minister stressed that maintaining a stable power supply is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of Puja pandals, public spaces, markets and other important installations during the festival.

He urged officials and employees of TSECL to remain dedicated and responsive throughout the period and work collectively to ensure that consumers do not face unnecessary inconvenience.

The Minister expressed confidence that with proper planning, coordination and continuous monitoring, TSECL would be able to meet the increased demand and ensure a safe, smooth and joyful Puja for people across Tripura.
