Mother approaches police alleging torture, property seizure by sons in Simna

Agartala, 4th  October 2026 :  A woman from Brahmakunda village under Simna area has reportedly approached the police alleging that she has been subjected to harassment and that her sons are attempting to take control of her property.

According to family members, the elderly woman has five sons and two daughters. However, they alleged that none of her children, except one son, is taking responsibility for her care. The son who is currently looking after her is himself reportedly unwell.

A family member claimed that the woman’s physical condition is critical and that she requires immediate care and support. He further alleged that some of her sons have been attempting to take possession of her land and other property, leaving her family without control over the assets.

The dispute reportedly intensified on Saturday when the woman allegedly attempted to sell a bamboo grove belonging to her. Family members claimed that her sons intervened and prevented the proposed sale.

Following the incident, the woman and her family members went to the police station seeking intervention and protection. They urged the police to look into the allegations of harassment and the disputed possession of her property.

Police are expected to examine the complaint and ascertain the facts surrounding the family and property dispute.
