Agartala, 8th October 2026 : Bhavan’s Kala Kendra, the cultural wing of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Lake Chowmuhani, organised its 3rd Annual Programme and Prize-Giving Ceremony in Agartala on Thursday, celebrating young talent in yoga, dance, music and drawing.
The Kendra has expanded its activities to three additional centres at Anandanagar, Bardowali and Narsingarh. The programme featured prize distribution among meritorious students, along with colourful cultural performances by students and mothers representing different branches.
The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to Maa Saraswati. Principal Swapna Shome highlighted the importance of cultural education alongside academic learning.
Chief Guest Dr Bibhash Kanti Kilikdar, Lokayukta, Tripura and Chairman of Aurobinda Society, distributed prizes to outstanding students and encouraged them to pursue excellence in the arts. Subrata Chakraborty, ICA and Vice-Chairman of the State-level Cultural Advisory Committee, attended as Guest of Honour.
Birendra Sarkar, retired Headmaster, and eminent singer Sushobhan Bhattacharjee were felicitated for their contributions. Former State Yoga Coordinator Dr Jishu Chakraborty was present as Special Invitee.
The ceremony was presided over by Debashis Chakraborty, retired IFS and Chairman, BVB Agartala Kendra, who also delivered the presidential address. Principal Swapna Shome distributed prizes to students from outside the school. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
