Agartala: July 27. Even after 72 hours passed, the police of Sonamura police station could not do anything about the abduction of a minor girl from Sonamura Balerdepa area. Today, students joined in a protest by blocking the national highway demanding to rescue the minor girl.

It is to be noted that miscreants kidnapped the minor girl of one Monir Hossain of Ward No. 6 of Kalapani Gram Panchayat under Sonamura police station on Sunday morning.

It is alleged that the abduction incident was organized from Ballerdepa Chowmuhani while going to the private teacher’s house at around 6:30 am on Sunday. Later, the minor girl’s father was threatened with death asking him not to file a case in the police station. Later, the girl’s family however filed a case at Sonamura police station. But after 72 hours passed, the police of Sonamura police station could not rescue the minor girl. The police of Sonamura police station rushed to the blockade after receiving the news.

The police reassured the protestors but the protest got more and more intense. The blockaders protested by burning tires on the road, questioning the police’s responsibility. However, it can be said that this role of the police is causing intense anger in the public mind.
