School Computer Teachers take statewide campaign to CM; Submit memorandums in eight districts

Date:

Agartala, 3rd November 2026 : Seeking an end to years of uncertainty over their salaries and service conditions, school computer teachers across Tripura on Tuesday approached Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha with a fresh appeal for intervention, submitting memorandums through the District Magistrates of all eight districts.

The initiative was organised by the All Tripura School Computer Teachers’ Association (ATSCTA), which has intensified its efforts to secure government action on a series of long-pending demands. Through the coordinated programme, the association sought to bring its grievances directly to the attention of the Chief Minister and urged the government to take concrete measures to resolve them.

At the centre of the teachers’ demands is the implementation of the 2021 guidelines concerning salary enhancement, which, according to the association, is yet to be implemented. The memorandum also contains a 12-point charter highlighting various concerns involving remuneration, job security, service benefits and other employment-related issues.

The association maintained that computer teachers play an important role in developing digital literacy among school students, particularly at a time when technology-based learning is becoming increasingly important. However, their own professional future and financial stability continue to remain uncertain due to the absence of a satisfactory resolution to their demands.

The teachers pointed out that repeated appeals over the years have failed to produce the desired outcome, prompting them to launch a simultaneous representation campaign across the state. They urged the government to recognise their contribution to the education system and address their concerns without further delay.

In Khowai district, a delegation led by association representatives submitted the memorandum to the District Magistrate for forwarding it to the Chief Minister. State committee member Sanku Sarma, district president Binoy Kumar Saha, general secretary Akash Das and several other members were present during the submission.

The association expressed optimism that the latest initiative would receive due consideration from the state government. It said an early decision on salary revision and other service-related demands would provide much-needed relief to computer teachers while ensuring greater stability in the delivery of computer education in schools.

With memorandums reaching the district administrations across Tripura, the teachers’ organisation has now placed the responsibility on the state government to respond to its 12-point demands and resolve the prolonged grievances of the teaching community.
