Agartala, 4th November 2026 : Blending devotion with human emotions and the unpredictable realities of life, social media creator of Tripura Anirban Bhowmik has come up with an ambitious devotional music video, ‘Shyam Sundari Shyama’, which was officially released on November 3, ahead of Diwali.
Conceptualised, scripted and directed by Bhowmik, the project seeks to present a deeper perspective on faith, relationships, emotional struggles and life’s unexpected turns. Bringing together a group of talented independent artists and technicians from the region, the production was completed with an investment of over Rs 1 lakh.
Sharing the journey behind the project, Bhowmik said that independent content creators today face the challenge of competing with productions from across the globe. According to him, maintaining quality and reaching audiences require continuous improvement in storytelling, technical expertise and overall production standards.

The encouraging response to a Shyama Sangeet devotional song released during Diwali last year inspired the team to take up a bigger and more challenging project this time. Bhowmik said the positive feedback motivated them to experiment with a more elaborate presentation and a narrative that could connect with viewers on an emotional level.
Emphasising the potential of independent creators, he said that a successful production does not necessarily require the backing of a large production house. A clear vision, a dedicated team and the determination to bring an idea to life are equally important.
Bhowmik revealed that he had devoted nearly a year to developing the concept, screenplay and direction of ‘Shyam Sundari Shyama’.
His intention was to move beyond the conventional format of devotional presentations and create something that would leave viewers with a thought-provoking experience.
Speaking about his creative influences, Bhowmik mentioned renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, whose storytelling and portrayal of complex human emotions and relationships have inspired him. He particularly admires the filmmaker’s ability to capture life’s uncertainties and present stories that do not always conclude with predictable or conventional happy endings.
Reflecting on the narrative of the music video, Bhowmik acknowledged that its ending might not provide the emotional satisfaction some viewers expect. However, he said that the intention was to portray the realities of life, where everything does not necessarily happen according to our wishes.
“Sometimes things fall apart, sometimes we lose, and sometimes we have to accept situations we cannot change. But life does not stop there. Life goes on,” he said.
At its heart, ‘Shyam Sundari Shyama’ conveys a message of unwavering faith in God, particularly during difficult moments. Bhowmik believes that faith can become a source of inner strength, helping people overcome emotional setbacks, rebuild themselves and move forward with renewed hope.
He also expressed gratitude to every member of the cast and crew, acknowledging that the project was the result of collective dedication and teamwork rather than an individual effort. The appreciation and encouraging number of views received within just 24 hours of its release have further boosted the team’s confidence.
The musical composition and execution have been led by Kishan Das, who has lent his voice to the song while also taking charge of its composition, musical arrangement and direction. The lyrics have been penned by Ranajit Chakraborty, while Tapas Dhar handled music production, mixing and mastering. Shriddhi Bandopadhyay and Sharbani Chakraborty (Bandopadhyay) have added their voices to the concluding narration.
On the technical front, Adarsh Ray took charge of cinematography, editing, colour grading and visual effects. Laxmi Debnath of Laxmi’s Makeover managed the makeup, while Amlanjit Neogi and Biswajit Das looked after production management. Graphics were handled by Sourav Roy of Sr Editz.
The music video features an ensemble cast comprising Anirban Bhowmik, Jeniva Das, Subhabrata Chakraborty, Anushka Roy, Rekha Dey Choudhury, Rajat Dey, Deep Goswami, Aaditri Chowdhury, Nabarun Chakraborty, Utpal Dey, Sagar Rakshit, Biswajit Das, Amlanjit Neogi, Bitu Majumder and Arunabha Dutta.
With ‘Shyam Sundari Shyama’, Bhowmik and his team have attempted to demonstrate how independent regional creators can bring meaningful stories to audiences through limited resources, creative commitment and collaborative effort. Beyond its devotional appeal, the presentation seeks to remind viewers that while life’s uncertainties are inevitable, faith and hope can always offer the strength to carry on.
