Agartala: Apr 16: On the first day of New Year, a major theft took place at an area adjacent to Manurmukh Railway Bridge under Belonia police station.
The gang of thieves stole five cows and about 600 kg of rubber sheets from the house of Badal Das and Sujit Biswas in the area.
The affected families said that the market value of which will be more than Rs 4 lakh. The Belonia police have started an investigation.
According to local residents, a large number of cows have been stolen from the area. And many families have lost their lives. But the police administration could not stop the theft.
No initiative has also been taken so far by the administration to prevent theft. They complained about the gross negligence of the police administration. They also demanded regular police patrolling at night.
