Lorry loaded with tiles met accident near Baramura Eco Park; Vehicles stranded for 4 hours

Agartala, May 19, 2023: A lorry loaded with tiles met with an accident on the Assam-Agartala National Highway at 7 AM on Friday morning. A lorry loaded with tiles turtled and stopped traffic for a long time on the Assam-Agartala National Highway. After four long hours, the traffic came to normalcy. The incident took place in the area adjacent to Baramura Eco Park on the Assam-Agartala National Highway under Teliamura police station.

It is reported that a lorry bearing registration number AS01EC-8984 loaded with tiles was on its way to Teliamura from Jirania on Friday morning. After reaching the area adjacent to Baramura Eco Park, the vehicle lost control and turtled on the national highway. Vehicles on both side of the national highway stranded.

The vehicle loaded with tiles turtled causing minor injuries to the driver and co-driver. With the help of locals, they were taken to Teliamura sub-district hospital. Prasun Kanti Tripura, SDPO rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.

After about four long hours, the road was cleared with a dredger and stranded vehicles started moving. Teliyamura SDPO Prasun Kanti Tripura said that the vehicle loaded with tiles turtled in the middle of the road at 5 AM in the morning of Friday. Due to this, traffic stopped on the national highway. Later, JCB cleared the road and normalized traffic flow.
