Thrteen more bodies of the Bahanaga train tragedy victims have been handed over to their next of kin on the basis of DNA test result official sources said on Sunday.
The DNA test and subsequent handing over of corpses were done in joint coordination by AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, the Government Railway Police and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
The bodies were handed over to the kins of the deceased on Saturday
Official sources said four dead bodies have been sent to Bihar, eight to West Bengal and one to Jharkhand.
Ambulance and Escort vehicle for the bereaved families have been arranged by Odisha Govt and the East Coast Railway respectively.
The ex-gratia have been paid to the kins of the family members by Railways as announced by the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister.
The process of handing over of the bodies will continue till claimants come, East Coast Railway sources said.
