Agartala, July 30, 2023: A 12-year-old boy from Charilam Bazar area is suffering from the incurable disease of Thalassemia. To fund his son’s treatment, the father sold his car and even sought assistance from the Chief Minister by meeting him in person. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Chief Minister, the father is now managing his son’s medical treatment and household responsibilities with the support of relatives.

Earlier, during the time when Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma was elected as a local representative, the father had requested a brief interaction with him to discuss his son’s condition but was unable to meet him. At present, taking matters into his own hands, the father is funding his son’s treatment and managing family responsibilities.

During this time, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha learned about the “Mukyamantri Samipeshu” and was touched by the story of the struggling father. Subsequently, he attended to the plight of the needy father with great compassion.

The Chief Minister even took the responsibility of the boy’s treatment into his own hands and sought the advice of a renowned American physician. Additionally, he facilitated financial assistance for Thalassemia patients through a special program run by the central government.

The father expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support and assistance during this challenging time.
