Agartala, August 07: A delegation of the Leftist’s Tribal Students Union gave deputation to the officials of the Education department regarding various demands related to students’ welfare. A representative team from the central Committee of the TSU presented the memorandum at Shiksha Bhavan here on Monday.
The General Secretary of the organization, Sujit Tripura, was present during the meeting. He stated that there is a severe crisis of teachers in the state’s schools. However, many graduates with B.Ed and D.El.Ed degrees are unemployed in the state. The state government has left many positions for principal and other teachers vacant, which is adversely affecting the students’ education.
Additionally, there has been a demand to revoke the national education policy in the state as it is considered against the interests of the students. Furthermore, there have been concerns regarding scholarships for students every year. Therefore, the delegation called for resolving the scholarship-related issues at the Education department.
