Amra Bangali marches for various demands

Agartala, September 08, 2023: The Amra Bangali state committee staged a rally on the streets of Agartala on Saturday to press for various demands, including the recognition of Bengali language as a classical language in the national education policy, the employment of the jobless, and the control of the rising prices of commodities.

Gouranga Rudra Paul, the secretary of the Amra Bangali state committee said that the main purpose of this mass movement was to protect the Bengali language, culture and constitutional rights of Bengalis. He also said that they wanted Bengali language to be included in the list of classical languages in the national education policy, and to be applied at all levels, including public-private competitive exams. He said that they opposed any suppression of Bengali language, culture and identity.

He further demanded that all vacancies in all departments should be filled immediately through local recruitment. He said that they wanted to draw the attention of the authorities to the employment of 100 percent local unemployed by utilizing the agricultural, forest, mineral raw materials of Tripura.

He also called for bringing all agricultural lands under irrigation and making agriculture an industry. He said that they wanted to organize a massive mass movement to determine the appropriate price of agricultural produce.

He also urged the authorities to provide exemplary punishment to control the increase in commodity prices, prevent black market and fight corruption. He said that it was above politics to create mass movement pressure on the authorities to take the strictest administrative measures against women rape, political corruption, including women and drug traffickers. He also demanded the resettlement of refugee Bengalis and the establishment of constitutional rights of Bengalis, natives of Tripura and India.
