Agartala, September 14: A bike rider, identified as Saukat Poddar, suffered injuries after his bike collided with an auto near the Santirbazar CPIM party office on Thursday. The accident occurred around noon, when Poddar was riding his bike, bearing number TR08C-8185, and was hit by an auto, with number TR08C-3052. Poddar, who is a resident of Purba Para, fell off his bike and sustained injuries on his head and limbs.
The firefighters, who were alerted about the accident, reached the spot within minutes and provided first aid to Poddar. They then took him to the Santirbazar District Hospital for further treatment. The hospital authorities said that Poddar’s condition was stable and he was recovering from his injuries.
The police have registered a case of rash driving against the auto driver and are investigating the cause of the accident. The auto and the bike have been seized by the police for examination. The CPIM party office, which is located close to the accident site, did not suffer any damage or disruption due to the incident.
