Northeast first Vande Bharat Express being highly patronized by passengers

 Indian Railways flagship “Vande Bharat Express”

trains have been getting considerable patronage by the rail users in this part of north Bengal,

Assam and other parts of the Northeastern states of the country, Northeast Frontier Railway sources said.

” The Vande Bharat trains have registered exceptional occupancy rates

from the originating station as well as at enroute stations since

their inauguration,”

NFR CPRO Sabyasachi De said.

With the operation indigenously built semi-super speed trains the

commuters in Assam, people of Northeastern parts of the country are

experiencing speed and comfort while travelling by rail. In Northeast first Vande Bharat

was inaugurated by Prime Ministeri Narendra Modi on May 29, 2023 and

the train has registered exceptional occupancy rates from the originating station as

well as at enroute stations since its inauguration.

Train no. 22227/22228 (New Jalpaiguri – Guwahati – New Jalpaiguri)

Vande Bharat Express connecting New Jalpaiguri with the Gateway to the

Northeast, Guwahati, has greatly reduced the average travel time of passengers of both the

directions by nearly o­ne and half hour.

” Welcomed by traders and businessmen apart from various sections of

people around New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar and New

Bongaigaon, the service is registering good patronage since its

introduction,” he p[ointed out.

Train no. 22227 (New Jalpaiguri – Guwahati) Vande Bharat Express has

registered 96.93 percent occupancy and train no. 22228 (Guwahati – New

Jalpaiguri) Vande Bharat Express has registered an average occupancy of 93 pc

since its inception till September, 13, 2023.
