Tripura Rubber Workers Union demands six-Point Demands for Advancing Rubber Industry

Agartala, October 11, 2023:  In a significant move to bolster Tripura’s rubber industry, members of the Tripura Rubber Workers Union submitted a 6-point demand deputation to Viswashree B, Director of the Industries Department, on Wednesday. The demands encompassed key initiatives to revolutionize the sector and secure the welfare of rubber workers. A delegation comprising four prominent members of the state committee of the Tripura Rubber Workers Union met with Viswashree B, Director of the Industries Department, to present a crucial 6-point demand plan aimed at fortifying the rubber industry in the state. Among the demands were the establishment of a state-of-the-art factory utilizing rubber tree wood, the creation of a cutting-edge rubber base industrial plant, and the implementation of a comprehensive welfare scheme for rubber workers.

Gaura Chakraborty, a prominent member of the Tripura Rubber Workers Union, along with other leaders, emphasized the potential for Tripura’s rubber industry to be a cornerstone of economic growth. They underlined the importance of highlighting Tripura’s rubber products in the international market, urging the government to take strategic steps towards this objective. During the meeting, the delegation articulated that with the government’s support, the rubber industry could be shielded from potential crises, ensuring sustained growth and prosperity for the sector. They emphasized that a focused approach towards showcasing Tripura’s rubber products internationally could lead to unprecedented opportunities for the state.
