Agartala, October 15: In a commitment to foster the development of the people, the Tripura state government has forwarded a proposal to the central government seeking an increase in the number of ADC seats from 28 to 50. The primary objective behind this proposal is to ensure the equitable representation of sub-tribes within the population. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha articulated this during a gathering at the Agartala Town Hall on Sunday.

During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that education stands as the foremost priority area for the state government. He underlined the significance of education as a pivotal driver for overall development in the region.

In addition to his remarks on education, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also touched upon the topic of marriage, emphasizing that early marriages should be discouraged. He stressed that getting married before the right time could result in a loss to both the individual and the state’s society. The Chief Minister encouraged the idea of focusing on education first, achieving career stability, and then considering marriage.

He also took pride in the international recognition earned by Tripura’s traditional dance form, “Risa,” and acknowledged that the state government’s initiatives align with those of the central government.

The Chief Minister went on to explain that the government has established provisions for coaching students aiming to excel in national-level competitive exams. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering the youth through education and training.

During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha presented merit awards to high-achieving tenth and twelfth-grade students from the Mog community. The event was organized by the Society for the Welfare of Mog Students at the Agartala Town Hall and marked the 17th Merit Award and Freshers Meet of Mog community students. The gathering saw the presence of dignitaries, including Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder.
