Court sends Saikat to 6 days Police remand

Agartala, 27th October 2023:  In a recent development, Saikat Talapatra, who was apprehended in West Bengal, has been remanded to six days of police custody in five new cases.

Today  Saikat Talapatra appeared in court to face charges in five separate cases. Among them, Tripura Police has sought police remand of seven days for a case which was filed on behalf of Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman. However, West District Special Judge Subhashis Sharma Roy decreed a six-day period of police custody.  Prominent lawyer Samrat Kar Bhowmik provided insight into the proceedings, revealing that in the remaining four cases, the judge said that Talapatra to be held in jail until November 2. Following the six-day remand, Saikat Tolapatra is slated to be transferred to incarceration.
