Thieves loot businessman’s house in Kamalasagar on Diwali night, caught on CCTV

Agartala, November 13: A businessman’s house in Thakurpara area of Uttam Bhakta Chowmuni under Kamalasagar assembly constituency was looted by a group of thieves on Sunday night, when the family was away for celebrating Diwali and Kali Puja. The thieves broke the door lock and stole cash and gold ornaments worth over three lakh rupees from the house. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the house.

The owner of the house, Dulal Debnath, who runs a grocery shop in the locality, returned home around midnight and found his house ransacked. He checked the CCTV footage and saw a young man entering his house and taking away the valuables. He immediately informed the Amtali police station about the theft.

The police reached the spot and collected the CCTV footage as evidence. They said that the thief was not a local and that they were trying to identify and trace him. They also said that they were investigating whether the thief had any accomplices or not.

The theft has shocked and angered the residents of the area, who have demanded more security and patrolling from the police. They have also urged the people to be more vigilant and careful during the festive season.
