Agartala, 23rd November 2023:    In a shocking revelation, the Uttar Para Road in Netaji Subhash Gram Panchayat, under Bharat Chandra Nagar Block of Belonia Subdivision, has become a symbol of neglect, with promises of renovation unfulfilled for the past 5-7 years.

The road, a vital link connecting Chandra Nagar, Kalan Dhepa, and Belonia serves as a lifeline for 8-10 thousand daily commuters, but its deteriorating condition has led to mounting frustration among the local residents.

Despite repeated visits from representatives of the Panchayat Samiti and assurances from the Block Development Officer (BDO), the road remains in a state of disrepair, causing immense inconvenience to the community. The once-bustling Uttar Para Road has now transformed into a dead end, leaving residents stranded and raising concerns about emergency healthcare access.

The neglected state of the road has also disrupted the daily commute of school-going youngsters, adding to the woes of the community. With promises made before the election proving to be empty, residents have lost trust in the authorities and are now considering taking matters into their own hands through a potential agitation.

Local residents express their deep dissatisfaction, asserting that the administration’s indifference to the dire condition of the road is unacceptable. They emphasize that if urgent measures are not taken to rehabilitate the Uttar Para Road, a larger agitation will be inevitable, placing the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of the administration and the government.

The community’s demand for swift road repairs echoes their immediate need for better access to healthcare facilities and a smoother commute for students. As the situation escalates, the spotlight is now on the authorities to prioritize the well-being of the residents and fulfill their long-overdue promises for the restoration of the North Para Road.
