Police seize cannabis worth Rs 20 lakh from fake ambulance

Agartala, December 31: A fake ambulance carrying 53 packets of dry cannabis was intercepted by the police on Sunday. The driver managed to escape after abandoning the vehicle.

According to Police Officer Feroze Mia, who led the patrol team, the police became suspicious of the ambulance’s movement in the area and gave chase. Upon searching the vehicle, they found cannabis worth around 20 lakh rupees in the market.

Kailashahar SDPO Shibu Dey said that the car was modified to look like an ambulance and had three different number plates inside. He said that the police are investigating the source and destination of the contraband.
