Agartala, 8th January 2024:   Biplabi Suryasen Vidyamandir Junior Basic school is grappling with a severe shortage of primary teachers, leading to disruptions in the educational process. The situation reached a boiling point today as irate parents locked the school gates, demanding immediate action to address the shortage.

Reports indicate that the school is facing the brunt of this shortage, with only one teacher attempting to manage the daily instruction of two subjects. This understaffing issue affects a student population of 70, and with exams scheduled to commence on January 10, the urgency of the matter has intensified.

Compounding the problem is the recent transfer of the school’s headmaster, leaving administrative responsibilities unattended. As a consequence, the quality of education has suffered, prompting parents to take a stand against the inadequate staffing levels.

Upon learning of the protest, government officials and educators swiftly responded to the scene. Assurances were given to the aggrieved parents that steps would be taken promptly to address the teacher shortage. In light of these assurances, the parents decided to lift the blockade, trusting that the authorities would resolve the issue expeditiously.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by educational institutions, warranting immediate attention from concerned authorities to safeguard the students’ academic well-being.
