Agartala, 21st February 2024: The CPI (ML) Tripura State Committee has invited TIPRA Motha, the indigenous political party of Tripura, to join the INDI alliance, a coalition of regional parties and civil society groups that oppose the BJP-led central government.
In a press conference at Agartala Press Club on Wednesday, CPI (ML) state secretary Partha Karmakar accused the Modi government of attacking the Constitution and the rights of the people. He said that the Modi regime has been evicting people from their lands, suppressing their protests, and undermining the autonomy of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) in Tripura.
Sarkar also criticized TIPRA Motha for its silence on these issues and urged them to join the Indi alliance, which aims to protect the interests of the indigenous and marginalized communities in the country. He said that the Indi alliance is the only alternative to the BJP and its allies, which have failed to deliver on their promises and have betrayed the people.
