Agartala, 21st February 2024:  In a dramatic turn of events, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS)  launched a fervent protest on Wednesday, encircling theVehicle Office. The organization raised serious allegations of illegal activities related to the issuance of auto permits. Asim Dutta, the president of BMS, pointed fingers at ST board member Swapan Talukder, accusing him of distributing permits unlawfully and accepting exorbitant amounts despite not holding the position of chairman.

The controversy unfolded on Tuesday when it was revealed that a meeting chaired by Swapan Talukder took place. Subsequently, Talukder has been evading the public eye since the news broke. When confronted by officials from the BMS, Talukder reportedly remained tight-lipped, failing to provide satisfactory answers.

Even after the resignation of the chairman of the ST Board, the committee remains intact, further fueling suspicions of illicit activities. Asim Dutta emphasized that such activities were allegedly being carried out under the guise of the committee and demanded the immediate cancellation of permits issued through illegal means.

BMS called for a thorough investigation into the matter, urging authorities to take swift action against those involved in the alleged illegal distribution of permits.
